Behind the Scenes Spring/Summer '11

Spring is finally in the air after another long dreadful winter... What we at MIKAs Koivisto/Karlsson do to put up with the misery is that we come up with ideas for new collections that will inspire you and you and you to maybe change that colour, that fringe or maybe that length of your hair.

For Spring/Summer '11 we went to the studio with photographer Nils Odier and created yet another fantastic MIKAs Koivisto/Karlsson collection.

Last week Lexington Clothing Co. had a viewing at their showroom here in Stockholm for buyers and retailers of next years collection for Autumn/Winter '11. Our Salon Manager Director at MIKAs Koivisto/Karlsson, Jenny Karlsson, was there and in charge of the hair.

Stockholm Hairdresser - October 9-10

In October there will be a new groundbreaking hair event in Sweden, called "Stockholm Hairdresser". Gathering the best salons and hair stylists in town at Färgfabriken doing what they do best.

During the two days, 9-10th, there will be 14 shows on two different stages and our team from MIKAs Koivisto/Karlsson will do one of them, sponsored by REDKEN.

During the last few weeks we have been working on our seasonal collection for Autumn/Winter '10/11. It will be up in the shop at Tegnérgatan 12 in a couple of months time. Predictions are that it will become a classic in hairdressing Sweden...

Cecilia Posti is the name of one of our Trainees/Assistants at our salon. She started at our salon about 6 months ago - and from being a novice then up until now she has really improved quickly.
Every week she is practising cutting and styling under supervision of Jenny Karlsson, our Salon Manager Director, on people who wants to sit as a model.

Our salon campaign for Spring/Summer 2010 have made it to the cover of Mirror Magazine and a six page spread inside.

MIKAs Koivisto/Karlsson is from now on a Redken salon, using tint, demis and toners only from Redkens series and shampoo/conditioner/chemistry/treatments from Redken and Pureology.

Redken (or "Redken 5th Avenue NYC") is an American hair care brand owned by the L'Oreal Group.

The company was founded in 1960 by hairdresser Jheri Redding and actress/model Paula Kent, thus the name, "Red-ken." Redken pioneered the "Scientific Approach to Beauty," and revolutionized the professional salon business by introducing the concept of protein reconditioning and developing new protein based products, which they patented.
