Sir Jerry Mateparae, Governor-General Designate of New Zealand, is Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace on June 1, 2011 in London, United Kingdom. Sir Jerry has been appointed as Additional Knight Grand Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit and will be sworn in as Governer-General on August 31.
